I teased these scones a couple weeks ago and I’ve been so eager to share them with you. Soft, tender, and moist lemon scones, topped with a buttery, lemony streusel, baked to perfection and then glazed with a simple, sweet, and tangy lemon glaze. Go buy yourself a whole bag of lemons and make these asap!
I have a treasure trove of scone recipes (most are non-sourdough) over on my site and they really are one of my favorite things to make as well as one of my favorite things to teach others how to make. I’ve had so many friends, family members, and readers tell me that they had never had success until they tried my scone recipes. That’s the stuff that makes my heart flutter with happiness.
These lemony delights were inspired by my darling husband as he requested lemon scones for his birthday a few weeks ago. Scones are a beloved holiday and birthday tradition in our home. I was more than happy to oblige so I whipped up a variation of my basic Sourdough Discard Scone Recipe and boy did I make them lemony! This is such a good one and I hope you’ll give it a try!

I’m sharing my ebook again since there are a lot of new faces here - thank you to those of you who already purchased it! This ebook is simple to print and makes a very thoughtful gift for a friend or loved one who is just beginning their sourdough journey. And of course you don’t have to print it, it looks great on a tablet, laptop, or even a smartphone. But if you want to print it here are the settings I chose at my Staples: professional print, 8.5”x11”, portrait, scale to fit, double-sided, head-to-head, white card stock, color printing, black coil binding, no front cover, card stock back cover.
Here is a preview of the cover and first page.
